The weather in Rhodes
RHODES ISLAND
If you are a cosmopolitan type of tourist then Rhodes, the “Island of the sun” is the ideal destination for your vacations. Rhodes combines a rich history, impressive medieval architecture, amazing beaches and a lovely natural scenery. All these together with a variety of nightlife amusement.

The island was named after the flower ‘rodo’, which means rose in Greek.

The Old Town of Rhodes with its stone-paved alleys and the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights, is included in the list of the World’s Heritage Sites of UNESCO.

Anthony Quinn Bay: Where the famous Guns of Navarone film was performed by Anthony Quinn. The bay next to it, Ladiko bay, is even clearer, suitable for snorkeling with lots of fish and other sea animals.

Village and Acropolis of Lindos: The most impressive archaeological site of Rhodes.

Valley of butterflies: From July until September, this planned valley fills up with millions of multi-color butterflies.
From Rhodes you can participate to a day trip to nearby islands/cities: Symi, Chalki, Marmaris and Bodrum (Turkey).
The weather in Kos
KOS ISLAND
Kos is one of the most popular islands of Dodecanese. It has golden sand beaches, crystal clear waters, archaeological sites, and activities for every taste. Kos’ reputation as the best Greek island to cycle around, is fully deserved. There’s a 13km cycle path along the waterfront, with branches heading into town.
In Kos there are a lot of beautiful coasts like: Paradise, Mastichari, Lambi, Marmari, Tigkaki, Kardamena, Aghios Fokas, Kamari and the amazing beach of Aghios Stefanos.
The Basilicas of Saint Stephen are located on a rocky spot just above the beach of Kamari. It is a complex of two early Christian churches dating from the 6th and the 5th century AC. There is a larger church on the southern side of the rock and a smaller on the north. These two churches shared a baptistery and they were connected to the neighboring islet of Kastri with a bridge that was later destroyed by an earthquake.
Psalidi beach is a place for those who like winds and kite surfing, wind surfing, paragliding, sea ski, sea parachute and lots of other water sports!
One of the most beautiful spots of Kos island is Zia village. Zia lies hidden among the lush green forests and running waters and is regarded as a pole of attraction for many visitors due to its idyllic location and the breathtaking views during sunset! This small village is full of tourist shops, cafes and taverns.
Due to its position, Kos island has a lot of nearby islands to visit on a daily cruise.

A day trip to Nisyros island is a unique experience, because you have the opportunity to walk on the surface of an inactive volcano.

Kos island is famous for two Doctors of ancient times: Asklepios and Hippocrates. Asklepieion is reputably the most visited tourist destination in Kos. This archaeological site was built in honor of Hippocrates, who cured people and taught the art of healing to his students. Asklepieion sanctuary considered as the world’s 1st hospital. On the top of the terrace you can have an amazing view of the town.
In the entrance of Kos harbor, there is the Castle of Knights. The Knights of the Order of Saint John built this castle in the late 14th century and it was named Fortress of Neratzia Castle. A similar castle was also constructed in Bodrum, Turkey.
Another place of interest is Hippocrates’ Tree. Hippocrates, is considered the father of medicine and he used to teach his students under this plane tree.
Castle of Antimachia: This impressive medieval fortress is located in the center of the island, to the southeast of the village of Antimachia.
In Kos there are natural thermal springs in Therma beach. Therma is a beach that offers a unique natural spa experience. The water’s temperature ranges between 40º C – 45º C and is rich in many minerals including sulfur, calcium, potassium, and magnesium. These minerals provide therapeutic relief to those with ailments such as arthritis or rheumatism and any gynecological related issues. In addition to the healing properties, the thermal waters offer wellness and relaxation and are suitable for all ages and for all seasons.

SYMI ISLAND
The journey to Symi can be an exceptional experience. The serenity of the landscape, the games of the light creating rich colorful changes and the discrete accompaniment of the blue sea of Symi (or Simi) predispose the visitors for relaxed vacation.

While approaching the port of Symi, one has the overwhelming feeling of entering a perfectly painted image of a scenic traditional village. Symi is a fairytale island with great religious tradition. It is well known for the famous monastery «St. Panormitis», built on the bay of Panormos and it is dedicated to Archangel Michael, who is the protector of the island.
There is no lack of beautiful beaches on the island. Tourists love the fact that many of them are only reachable by taxi (boat).
Some beaches are sandy, some others are pebbly, and there are also those situated on small islets around Symi (Agia Marina, Agios Emilianos, Nimos, Sesklia) but all of them are bathed by crystal clear water.
Most of the coastal areas of the island are picturesque: Nos, Agios Georgios, Agios Nikolaos, Nanou, Marathounta, Faneromeni, Agios Vassilios, Nimporios, and Maroni.
In Symi you will taste the “simian” fried prawns, octopus, squid, cuttlefish, shrimp, lobsters and gaellopites, fried pies with smelt. Also very tasty are the ‘cakes’, ‘nevates’ pies with local cheese and spearmint.
